What changed, and when.

Rules change and so does this site. This is the plain record of what was added or corrected. Every rules page also carries its own last-checked date.

  1. 4 October 2026

Save a plan, two new guides, and real reviews

    • New guides: breaking a lease in Queensland (what it costs, the forms, and when leaving early isn’t breaking at all) and getting your bond back, from the entry report to a dispute.
    • Signed in? A tool result now has Save to my account. Your dashboard keeps the plan and opens it back in the tool with your numbers in place. Income figures are never saved, and nothing leaves your device unless you press it.
    • After an Application Assist review is delivered, your dashboard asks how it went. We quote a review only if you say we may, and the average counts every genuine review, including the ones we don’t quote.
    • Small drawings and margin notes on every page, in the same hand as the home page, pointing at the line worth reading twice.
  2. 4 October 2026

Plainer words, and one way to share

    • The break-lease calculator now explains the cap in plain words, with a small (i) next to each term. The scale showing how the cap drops through the lease sits at the top, and it answers the question people ask most: yes, you pay the rent for the days until the new tenant moves in, but never more than the cap.
    • The pets and body corporate guide now leads with the 21 days the committee usually has to decide, links the government’s renting page, and points to its short video on animal by-laws.
    • Every tool shares the same way: email it to yourself or a friend, or copy it. No more pop-up share menus.
    • The privacy page now says what we keep if you ask us to set you up ourselves.

Your review now lives on your dashboard

    • When your Application Assist review is delivered it now appears on your dashboard itself: what to change before you press submit, in order of impact; your slots planned for the platform you’re applying through; the about-me ready to paste; the messages for your referees; and a household income summary you print and sign. A PDF is optional, not the review.
    • The dashboard now asks which platform and which property you’re applying for before you upload, so the review is built for that form.
    • Documents and the review are kept for 60 days after delivery (it was 30), so the review is there for the whole search. Deleted sooner the day you ask.

The Playbook is being rebuilt as a digital product

    • The Rental Playbook is coming back as tools that build your application from your details, in one private place. Not a PDF. It is not on sale; the Playbook page now says so plainly and takes a free “tell me when” email.
    • Application Assist is now offered at the end of every free tool and guide, and its page shows an example of what comes back.
  5. 27 September 2026

Application Assist is open for bookings

    • Application Assist now takes bookings: one household pack reviewed line by line, from $199. Documents go through a private upload box on this site (never by email), stored encrypted in Sydney and deleted within 30 days of the review.
    • The Playbook is not on sale yet and is being rebuilt as a proper digital product rather than a PDF; Assist no longer bundles it.
  6. 25 September 2026

Two new guides, a shared household check, and a tidier site

  7. 10 September 2026

A bigger site, easier to find your way around

  8. 9 September 2026

The cover letter, and the twenty-second test

  9. 6 September 2026

    A link fix

    • The QCAT link on the renter help map pointed at a page that had moved. Corrected.
  10. 5 September 2026

    Diagrams, and three new guides

  11. 4 September 2026

    The free tier goes live

  12. 1 September 2026

    Pets on the checklist

    • The interactive checklist gains a pet section, and notes that Queensland’s pet protections apply to existing tenancies, not applications.
